Baglioni Hotel Luna Venice re-opens

Baglioni Hotel Luna Venice, one of the most prestigious 5-star luxury hotels in the lagoon city, has reopened its doors following major renovations.

One of the Baglioni Hotels & Resorts Collection, the hotel resides in an elegant mansion that was once the seat of the Knights Templar, just metres from St Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace.

Winner of Travel + Leisure’s ‘World’s Best Award’, Baglioni Hotel Luna is the oldest hotel in the city. The San Giorgio Terrace Suite is one of the most exquisite accommodations in all of Venice and across Baglioni’s properties, with uninterrupted vistas across the waters of St Mark’s to San Giorgio isle. The Baglioni Hotel Luna features its own art gallery, which has been fully renovated, as part of the wider project which was overseen by Spagnulo & Partners, led by renowned architect and interior-designer Federico Spagnulo.

The ground-floor areas, including the entrance, reception, lobby, restaurant and bar, have been transformed. As part of the extensive renovation project a sophisticated hotel Spa has been added featuring a sauna, Turkish bath, massage rooms and relaxation area inspired by the Venetian aesthetic and embellished with classic textile panels, bronze glass inlays and smoked-glass mosaics.

Each of Baglioni Hotel Luna’s rooms boast breath-taking lagoon views and the suite terraces look out across the panoramic cityscape and across the water to St Marks, the Royal Gardens and San Giorgio Maggiore island.

The building’s unique and historic relevance is intrinsically tied to Venice’s eclecticism and the Floating City’s cultural exchange with the East, which has been pivotal to the design process. The materials, fabrics and decor allude to a diversity of traditions, bridging past and present. The opulent marble floors in the entrance, lobby area and in the Fireplace Lounge offer a uniquely Venetian experience and a domineering antique Murano glass chandelier complements the modern furnishings and design. All of the soft furnishing have been reinvigorated with classic textiles created by Rubelli.,50908605.html
